Welcome from the Warren County High School English Department
English I students will read many classic pieces of literature including Romeo and Juliet and The Odyssey. They will read poetry, short stories and the novel Night. Grammar and writing will taught throughout the year as well. Students will take an the End-of-Course Exam in May.

English II students will continue to learn about grammar and writing. More in-depth research skills will be introduced and students will complete a research project. Students will read short stories, poetry, Julius Caesar and the novel To Kill A Mockingbird. Students will take an End-of-Course Exam in May.

English III
English III students focus much of their time and attention on writing. They write many types of papers but focus mainly on presuasive papers. Research skills are taught and American literature including classic short stories and poetry as well as the classic novel Of Mice and Men. English III students must take the TCAP Writing Assessment in February and an End-of-Course Exam in May. All juniors must take the ACT in March.

English IV students read British Literature. Students complete a research paper, write and respond to the literature, read poetry, short stories and classic pieces of literature like Macbeth and Beowulf.
