WCMS PTO MEETING

April 11, 2013 7:30 a.m.

Conference Room – Library

Welcome:     Principal Tidwell and PTO President, Cindy Rogers welcomed the ten                                                                                 members present!

Principal’s Report:

Principal Tidwell expressed appreciation for PTO funding of the various items given to all of our students encouraging them to do their best as a kick- off for WCMS’s T-CAP Boot Camp.  He also reported that our very first, WCMS T-CAP Boot Camp Pep Rally was a big success!  Students enjoyed two periods of motivational speakers (including Sheriff Jackie Matheney, and WCHS Football Coach Johnson), student performances, a teacher skit, and SRO Officer Hennessee’s Band to help student’s get fired up to do their best on the test.

Treasurer’s Report:

Treasurer, Dr. Amy Everett reported a balance of $4,876.29 in the PTO account. She also discussed her continued  paper work on our PTO’s 501C-3 Compliance,  PTO Charter, and newly applied for tax- exempt status. All of which are necessary for PTO funds to be kept separate in a PTO checking account from the school’s accounts.    A vote was taken to spend the over $3,000 balance in our school account from school dances for new laptops, 8thgrade reception, and teacher appreciation brunch expenses to close out that account.
